Exide Electronic's new name, effective April 7, 1999, is Powerware. Powerware offers a full line of Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPSs), power management software and world class service. Powerware's approach to power protection revolves around the nine most common power problems present in any work environment. The nine most common power problems are: power failure, power sags, power surges, brownouts, line noise, high voltage spikes, frequency variation, switching transients and harmonic distortion. Not every UPS protects against all power problems. Powerware offers three levels of power protection to choose from:

Series 3
Protects against power failure, power sags and power surges. Series 3 UPS's are the least expensive and are most commonly used to protect single workstations.

Series 5
Protects against power failure, power sags, power surges, brownouts and line noise. Series 5 UPS's are recommended for small network systems.
Product Names: 5105 & 5119

Series 9
Protects against all nine of the most common power problems. Series 9 UPS's offer the highest level of power protection available and are always recommended for mission critical applications like server farms and hospitals.
